Meet the Doctors
Dr. Tyler
Dr Tyler graduated from The University of Michigan Dental School in 1982 and came to Rochester in 1984. His wife Peggy and their three daughters have called Rochester home ever since. " We have been blessed to live in such a great community and have embraced all it has to offer".
In 1985 Dr. Tyler aquired the practice from his former partner and formed University Dental Associates. Shortly after this Dr. Kennedy joined the practice and became a partner. " I have been very fortunate to have found a partner who for the past twenty years has shared my vision for the practice and is an excellent clinician".
Dr. Tyler was named as one of " Hour Magazines Top Dentists for 2008". The partners have been excited by the addition of Dr. Scalia to the practice and are looking forward to many more years of service to our community.
Dr. Kennedy
Dr. Bruce Kennedy graduated from The University of Detroit Dental School in 1982. He began his dental practice in Royal Oak, while residing with his wife Laura and their two sons in the Rochester area. He is grateful for the opportunity to join Dr. Tyler at University Dental Associates in 1988, and for the great partnership and progressive, friendly dental practice they have cultivated and shared through the years.
Together ,they have worked hard to grow and expand the practice with modern technology and concern for their many patients." It has been a privelege and blessing to work with and serve the community where I live, and have raised my family, and also to work with such a competent, committed staff.
Dr. Scalia
It has been three years since Patrizia Scalia has joined our practice. How the time does fly by! She has loved getting to know all of our patients. Dr. Scalia is a 1997 graduate of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry. Patrizia, her husband David and their two children Vincent and Nikolas enjoy living and working in Rochester.
Aside from chasing after her two boys she enjoys outdoor activities and remodeling projects. Dr. Scalia speaks Italian fluently as well as a little bit of French and Spanish. Hopefully you will get a chance to meet her at your next visit.

UDA CARES
Yes we do! And this was exemplified this past saturday as we hosted a day of free treatment for those in our community with financial hardship. We used the name "UDA CARES" for the event title. Our entire staff, and some of our spouses and children, willingly gave up their saturday to volunteer for this event. The event was organized by two of our hygienists, Megan Butler and Kerrie Ransome, who with guidance from the Rochester Neighborhood house got the patients who needed help to our office. We saw over 34 patients ranging in age from 3 to 16 years old. It really opens your eyes to the need that is out there and at the same time makes you realize how blessed we are. We hope to make this a yearly event at University Dental.
UDA RUNNERS
Last year University Dental had 5 participants in the Brooksie Way 5K run at Oakland University. The proceeds from this run go to support many local charities. This year UDA had 14 runners. We had a great time and actually won the team event. Our shirts were very recognizable, pink for the girls,blue for the guys (photo). Accidents Will Happen
Unfortunately accidents do happen, and when they involve your teeth you want to go somewhere where the dentists have experience in these matters. At University Dental we have not only been taking care of our current patients in these times, but for the past 25 years we have been the practice that treats Oakland University Athletic department needs. When there is a sports related injury at OU we are the office that gets the call to provide the emergency services. This has given us the opportunity to provide for and gain experience in these complicated cases.
